In 2007 I was given the opportunity to participate in commemorations marking the 90th Anniversary of the Battle of Passchendaele. The body of work I exhibited consisted of previously shown and recently created art. The exhibition was titled ‘Passchendaele 1917’ and was hung in the Memorial Museum Passchendaele 1917 located in Zonnebeke, Belgium for the duration of the commemorations. During my visit to Belgium I stayed in Ypres, exploring the local area visiting museums. I attending commemorations at a number of sites, including the 80th Anniversary of the opening of the Menin Gate and a museum weekend hosted by the Memorial Museum Passchendaele 1917. It was an intensely moving and inspiring time. The images below document my experience.
